LAS VEGAS, Nevada — LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that the promotion will kick off July in a big way for fight fans on both sides of the globe. Starting with the first Saturday of the month, LFA will return to Brazil with a Brazil vs. Latin America team challenge. LFA 187 will feature a fight card filled with top prospects from Brazil and five of its neighboring Latin American countries. Then six days later, the promotion will head back to the United States for a Bantamweight Title Fight in the Valley of the Sun at LFA 188. These two events will feature a combined 28 bouts. The full fight cards for both events have been announced below.

“We are excited to host a pair of exciting LFA events in both hemispheres in July,” stated Soares. “LFA 187 will feature a fight card filled with matches pitting top fighters from Brazil with top fighters from five of its neighboring countries in Latin America. The headlining bout will see former LFA champion Carlos Leal (Team Brazil) and regional standout Manuel Mena (Team Latin America) meet in a showdown between top welterweight prospects. These fights will take place in Cajamar, São Paulo, Brazil. Then six days later, we return stateside with the Bantamweight Championship at LFA 188. The main event will feature the first title defense of the LFA bantamweight champion John Sweeney. He will face top contender and former LFA title challenger Rafael Do Nascimento. This event will take place in Chandler, Arizona.”

LFA 187: Brazil vs. Latin America takes place Saturday, July 6th at the Ginásio do Polvilho in Cajamar, São Paulo, Brazil. The main event will feature a welterweight showdown between former LFA champion Carlos Leal (Team Brazil) and regional standout Manuel Mena (Team Latin America). The entire main card will be available worldwide on UFC FIGHT PASS® at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

The Municipality of Cajamar, through the Department of Public Works and Services, coordinated the complete renovation of the entire structure of the Polvilho Gym.
